The comment: “I don’t know why this was on my recommended, but I don’t regret watching it ”
Also a great reason to repost this.

I always meet with *MY* attorneys in a Dunkie’s.

sounds like a bunch of winners frequent the place

I think I know how this guy’s meeting with his attorneys went...
“Ok, we’re gonna recommend you plead guilty to the charge of ‘ public nudity with intent to urinate’ , but not guilty on the ‘battery of a police horse’ because the horse’s body cam didn’t record properly.”

Welcome to the world of small market broadcasting, its like the networks’ minor leagues.

No, you were right the first time. I’ve been there, it almost makes Gloversville NY look nice. Almost.

I’ve been to Shamok in a few times for work. Don't go there.

Oh no they’re spreading
![]() 12/30/2018 at 20:35 |

It’s certainly got a lot of variety. You’ve got one of the biggest cities in America with Philadelphia, a big city in Pittsburgh, and a whole lot of places like Shamokin in between.

“I’d rather the donuts at Dunkin‘ Donuts” is just about the saddest thing I’ve heard all year. How terrible must the other place be?
![]() 12/30/2018 at 20:37 |

Pittsburgh on one end and Philadelphia on the other, with rural Kentucky in the middle.
![]() 12/30/2018 at 20:38 |

I loved them back 30 years ago, but they changed their recipe for the cake donuts some time back and they all taste like flavored bread. Boo. I’ll take Lamar’s Donuts.
![]() 12/30/2018 at 20:38 |

Ok, I just got to “it’s the only t hing this town has” and that’s the saddest thing I’ve hea rd all year.

There are a few other bastions of civilization, but yeah, pretty much. I live about an hour north of Philly in the state's third largest city, and we're close enough to Philly and NYC to be a pretty populated area.

ofcourse the very stoned looking guy is called dutch... stereotypes people... cmon:p
all this drama bout a dunkin donuts being closed is very american tho... (stereotypes people...cmon)

I don’t generally do chains (although I’ll make an exception for fresh Krispy Kreme) but DD is just incomprehensibly stale every time I’ve tried it. Living in the Boston area was wretched because people there actually believed that was the gold standard and I couldn’t even.
![]() 12/30/2018 at 20:43 |
|
Even when they’re fresh they’re not very good.
Lamar’s is the only chain I like. There’s a decent local place near us though.

Listen, y ou don’t understand. Dunkin’ is a way of life.

Indianapolis is overrun with the best yeast donuts I’ve ever found, anywhere. I’d put 4 different local donut shops against the best any city has to offer, and there’s a 5th which has a powdered sugar cream-filled donut which is just magnificent.

I grew up in Bucks County, but have a bunch of family out further in the middle of the state. It, um, starts to look like a mashup of West Virginia and upstate New York pretty quick when you get out there.

Meh, but better than Dunkin . My partner loves them, though.
![]() 12/30/2018 at 20:57 |

They left the Denver metro area about 16-17 years ago, though there were still a couple in Colorado Springs. They came back a couple years ago, and that's when I found out they discontinued their chocolate crullers. THEY ARE DEAD TO ME NOW.

If the snow is bad I may walk to Winchell’s tomorrow. We don’t have anything in my neighborhood, but we have one of those!

I grew up/live in Allentown. Used to do in- home sales across the eastern half of the state. Everything east of State College. Lots of places like Shamokin.

I’m still hooked on their breakfast sandwiches and hash rounds, but yes, you can do just as well with a box of Entenmann’s from the grocery store.
THIS is back when DD was da shit!:
Nowadays, DD uses a third party supplier that ships donuts to each store frozen and defrost when needed.

YOU TAKE THAT BACK

Most of those look good, but I do shy away from the hipstery flavor s. Also, the whole ‘cereal on donuts’ thing is gross to me.

Donuts must be made on-site. This is why people don’t realize what joy a fresh donut can bring them.

I desperately want to go to that town and bask in the stupidness. I want to people watch for hours, wide-eyed in wonder. Perhaps even fake their accent and pretend to be one of them for a few minutes. NO!!! I’ve got it!!
I would actually go there, speak in the deepest East Texas twang I could muster, and allow them to believe that I am the dumb one* ! Oh it would be GLO RIOUS TAKE ME THERE NOW!!!!
*I have actually done this several times, usually when visiting Chicago. Never fails to entertain.

This is PEAK small town. (I
s there no Wawa to go to in the meantime
? Wawa’s coffee is better.)
Still,
I’d be mad, too. They get pork roll at the Dunkins up there. Pork roll! Man. I love pork roll.

What all these goofball Cletus Safaris where they go out into the country and try to find “real America” don’t get is that the one restaurant that’s there is like,
really
important, man.
DQ was
the only thing open on Sundays in Mom’s town and I will cut the fool who comes between me and a Dude sandwich.
(In all seriousness, I hope the girl who started this DD fire is OK and getting some help? Sounds like there’s some larger problems I can’t laugh about going on there.)

Welcome Chicken and Donuts. 16th St. and Buckeye in Phoenix. Same dude has Welcome Diner in Phoenix and Tucson.

Dunkin is okay, but Tim's is better and closer. If I want a good donut, I'll drive to one of the two 24 hour places each about a half hour from me. Locally owned joints with way better donuts.
